My Story
Twin Cities Singer/Songwriter, Beth Yeshaya
started out cast as a "Brettonian" (singing waitress) at the age of 17 at the Mt. Washington Hotel resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. She is currently writing a musical based on her experiece there. Her CD, “Far Cry, Live At Studio, M”, was called, “… A strong, emotional album” by JazzUSA. Featured on the album are world-class musicians, including drummer, Michael Baker, internationally acclaimed a cappella group, Vox One, renowned cellist, Jesse Levy, members of the Hornheads and arrangements by Adi Yeshaya. She has been a guest artist on many other solo artist CDs, including Mary Beth Carlson, Cookie Coleman and was featured on 6 Target Store "Lifescapes" series CDs.

STUDIES:
Beth studied voice at Berklee College of Music in Boston and received her Vocal Performance degree from McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN. Some of her more notable voice teachers were the late jazz vocalist, Roberta Davis and musical theatre workshops with Broadway's Natalie Weiss. Beth loves to sing and continues her studies to stay current with ever-evolving vocal techniques.
GIGS:
She has played in many of the Twin Cities, finest, jazz clubs, including the Dakota Jazz Club, the Artist Quarter, Crooners Supper Club, Jazz Central and many others. Some of her more notable performances include back-up vocals with Cynthia Johnson for disco star, Gloria Gaynor and sharing a spotlight with vocalists, Debbie Duncan and Dennis Spears, fronting the Adi Yeshaya Big Band .
WRITING:
Beth has been commissioned as a songwriter/lyricist by organizations including the World Food Prize, ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) and many other music artists on their CD projects. Beth and the late great jazz singer, Debbie Duncan co-wrote “Traveling At The Speed Of Love“ for Debbie CD, "I Thought About You". She and her songwriting partner, Carol Sutherland co-wrote “Live On“, based on Carol‘s poem. The song became the title track in the Hurricane Katrina benefit CD, “Live On; Songs of Love, Hope and Inspiration“, featuring the vocals of Beth and Valerie Pinkston (back-up singer to Whitney Houston) . Carol and Beth also co-wrote "Follow Your Bliss ", performed by the Lincoln High School Gospel Choir featuring Beth and Minneapolis Gospel legend, Robert Robinson led by Darcy Reese. Beth was a soloist and member of the Twin Cities Gospel Choir, and TCC Ensemble, led by Sandra Hodges.

TEACHING:
Beth was a guest vocal coach several summers at Coast Music Conservatory in Los Angeles, coaching their Jazz and Vocal Intensive camps. She was invited to conduct workshops and concerts at Fillmore Public Schools in Harmony, Minnesota and Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. She subsequently traveled with Lincoln High School's, gospel choir when they were invited to perform at Jazz At Lincoln Center in New York City. Beth created her Belting Workshop, teaching belting technique to musical theater groups and choirs, including the Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir in Minneapolis. Beth is a voice teacher with All Things Musik since 2018 and teaches contemporary and musical theatre vocal technique from her private voice studio in Eden Prairie, MN.
